MAKEUP BRUSHES
As important as the makeup you choose is to apply each product with the appropriate brush or brush. Professional makeup artists use in each session a very varied range of brushes, each indicated to make up an area of the face or apply some products.
makeup-brushes
Each type of brush has a certain size and shape; In addition, the type of hair with which it is made will determine the use that is given to said brush. Brushes can be made of synthetic hair (they maintain their shape, they are more recommended for applying cream or fluid makeup, since natural hair absorbs more product, and they are cheaper) and natural hair (of animal origin, softer, flexible and elastic).

Types of makeup brushes
Although there is a wide variety of makeup brushes and brushes, there are a few that can be considered essential. They are as follows:

Foundation brush: Synthetic hair, flat, a little stiff but soft. Perhaps if you are not very used to applying makeup, you may be surprised that the base is also applied with a brush, but this is perfect for applying fluid or cream makeup. Natural hair brushes or sponges absorb much more product and are therefore less recommended.

Correcting brush: Synthetic hair, flat and small, allowing great precision. It is mainly used to apply concealer to the eye area.

Powder brush: Large size, to better distribute loose and compact powders. Much better if it is natural hair. Essential.

Blush brush: Similar to the powder brush but smaller. It is preferable to have natural hair. If it also has a diagonal cut, it will facilitate the application by marking the cheekbone.

Eyeshadow brushes: There are many types, but those with natural hair tend to be very good.

Eyeliner brush: Synthetic hair and cut diagonally, to facilitate the task of delineating the eye. Or very fine, with few hairs and a pointed finish, perfect to outline if it is a liquid product.

Eyebrow brush: You must have hard hairs to be able to comb the eyebrows and apply the products in this area.

Lip brush: Short hair, somewhat hard, flat, and not very flexible. Its characteristics facilitate the application and help to achieve precision in the line.

Makeup base brushes
To apply the foundation we have two options: the skunk and the cat's tongue.
The skunk brush (left) is perfect for both fluid and powder bases. The mix of synthetic and natural hair provides a light and fresh finish, ideal if you are looking for no makeup to be noticed.

On the other hand, the cat's tongue brush (right) is very useful for liquid or cream bases. Thanks to the rounded cut of their hairs, it will prevent brush strokes from remaining on your face, spreading everything evenly.

Makeup brushes powders
To seal your face with compact powders after foundation, even if you just apply that, the kabuki brush (left) is just the thing. At first, this style of brush was short-handled, so not everyone found it comfortable, but nowadays, we can already find it with longer handles that allow us a better grip.
As for the blush brush, it is important that the hair is soft and long so that the product blends well.

beveled makeup brush
The contouring technique consists of using ‘lights and shadows’ to sculpt your face. Using dark tones and others that illuminate you can get highlight the part you want.
For this, the beveled brushes are used, which have a diagonal cut that allows you to be precise in the strokes.

Eye makeup brushes
The eye sector is already somewhat more complex. If you are starting in makeup, you may find it somewhat messy, but we will show you the simplest brushes with which you can get a look for any occasion.
Starting from the left, the first brush is the eye contour brush. They are flat and compact, to help apply in a localized way.
The bevelling, in this case, serves to mark depth in the eyes with a slightly darker shade than the one we are using on the rest of the eyelid.

The following is known as the cat's tongue. It is the same as the one we have seen for the makeup base, except that the size is smaller and serves to extend the product. If you just want an eye brush, this should definitely be it.

Finally, we have the liner brush. Eyeliner products usually come with the applicator included, making this the least common. Even so, it is good that you know it because there are products that your application requires.

Eyebrow makeup brush
If you don't want to have a thousand brushes for each product, the ones that are double are super practical.
In this case, on the one hand it has a brush with which you can fill in the gaps and make your eyebrows appear denser. And on the other to comb the most rebellious hairs.

Lip makeup brush
And to finish our, very complete, brush toiletry bag we would be missing our lips.
This arrowhead brush is perfect for drawing the shape of your lips and filling every last hole.
After this review of all the necessary types of brushes, we show you a selection of the best on the market, in case you have wanted to!

summery
The world of makeup is huge and can sometimes be difficult. What brushes are there? What are they used for? As Eva Raya, co-creator of Alice in Beautyland tells us: "If you don't dedicate yourself to professional makeup or you want to do something really elaborate, 4 or 5 is enough.

The first thing to keep in mind is that, within each type of brush, there are two lengths of hair: if it is shorter and denser, it takes more product, while if it is longer, it allows for greater blending.
